A lot to be thankful for in 2010

by Runners' Runner on January 19, 2011

On December 19, on a Sunday evening, Runners’ Runner held a Christmas and Thanksgiving Party at Gerry’s Grill, Harbor Square, CCP Complex. This despite me (the author) being under the weather after undergoing a medical procedure at my hometown 6 hours from Manila that same morning. I wanted to make sure to push on with the party because we had a whole lot to be thankful for in 2010, and we wanted to celebrate these with our RR friends.

Runners' Runner Christmas and Thanksgiving party

Runners’ Runner had simple beginnings in Feb 2010, being so fired up that we turned the idea into reality all within 2 evenings on February 9, 2010. All we started out to do was to help runners register for their next big run — an inconvenience that we had experienced ourselves many times before. And within just 10 days after conceptualizing the business, we serviced our first set of runners in our first run on Feb 20, 2010 – The DFIT Fun Run (by Dusit Hotel).

Since then, we have created many friends and partners who have helped in more ways than we can describe.

We send out our gratitude to the people who have helped Runners’ Runner be what it is today: Ang BFF ng runners.

We send out our thanks to:

Tesza Tiongson-Cruz who invited us to the DFIT run at the exact time we were looking for our first run. Thanks to the DFIT team and all runners who registered through our website, although very raw at blogspot.com . (You can still visit our first website as it was in Feb 2010: http://runnersrunner.blogspot.com ). Many of our first runner registrants continue to order through Runners’ Runner until today.

Allan Cortez who took a chance with Runners’ Runner when he helped organize the Takbo Para sa PGH on April 25, 2011.

Eric Pasion of Run for Change who signed us up as automatic online registration facility for all Run for Change runs. Thank you Eric for helping us with the boost we needed! It’s been a roller coaster ride, don’t you agree? And it’s all lessons learned. ;-)

Brian Tan Seng, Mardan Tesoro, Geoff Ayap, Roscoe Nuke of 98Labs.com who create our awesome e-commerce website and our smashing logos.

Our early sponsors Binalot, Shui, La Maison, Posh Nails, Score Card, MultiSport, The Bull Runner, iampilipinas,  who partnered up with RR to provide more value in our rackets and at our on-site events. Special thanks to Shui who provided FREE massages at selected runs at the RR booth.

Our “Run Evangelists” Arnel Viado, Jeric Escobar, Harold Lorete, Albert Tubera who brought in many of our first customers especially when we were still starting out.

Our Runners’ Runner photographers Fish Florencio, Gerry Pacana, Erika Que, Tristan Mirasol, Maria Mendoza, Bem Brusas, Allen Fornea, Binggay Agor, Raya Lopez, Brent Catu, Rezza Custodio, KB, Elsa Agustin-Lagumen, Evelyn Mondragon-Lopez, Ivy Ramos, Cindie Cheng, Edwin Soriano who have captured photos for thousands of runners and thousands of memories.

I’d like to send out a very special thank you to Ivy Ramos (and her patient hubby Alfred) who has gone through fire and rain and even under a truck just to make sure that our runners get the service they signed up for. Thanks much, partner Ivy!

To all our Runner Friends on fb, at our website and all who have wished well for Runners’ Runner,

we thank you all for sharing in the vision of Runners’ Runner of developing a fun, safe and healthy Filipino running community.

And to our Good Lord who has showered us with blessings every step of the way.

Here’s to a big 2011! Let’s make this our biggest year yet!

Cheers!

Dear Runner’s Runner,

One of your lady photographers courteously requested to take us a photo during the fun run organized by La Salle last Sunday (sorry to forget the name of the event, is it Centennial run?) and introduced herself to be from runner’s run, hence the idea of your group.

I’m just wondering when can you post those pictures here?

We appreciate your forming the group with the kind of work that you envisioned for the running community. Good luck.

I could make the statement that Doubt is not a pleasant condition but certainty is an absurd one. or might possibly Every person takes the limits of their own field of vision for the limits of the world.
